How to Use the Guitar Tuner
This free online tuner uses your device's microphone to detect the pitch of your instrument and help you tune accurately.
- Click "Start Tuner" and allow microphone access when prompted
- Play a single note on your instrument
- The tuner will detect the note and show how many cents sharp or flat you are
- Adjust your tuning until the marker is centered (green = in tune)
- Use the preset buttons to see reference frequencies for standard guitar tuning
Chromatic vs. Standard Tuner
This is a chromatic tuner, meaning it can detect all 12 notes of the chromatic scale. This makes it perfect for:
- Guitar - Standard tuning (E A D G B E) and alternate tunings (Drop D, DADGAD, etc.)
- Bass - 4-string, 5-string, or 6-string bass
- Ukulele - Soprano, concert, tenor, or baritone
- Any instrument - Violin, cello, mandolin, banjo, and more
